چکیده

Background/Aim: Cervical cancer (CC) is the most common gynecological malignancy in women. In spite of a variety treatment protocols, it necessary to carefully investigate all factors that play role pathogenesis these tumors which may have mortal progression. this context, our study we aimed assess myeloperoxidase (MPO) gene polymorphism, an important inflammatory enzyme, among cervix cases. Methods: cross-sectional study, 79 cases diagnosed as cervical carcinoma between 1992-2012 included. The without archival paraffin blocks and clinical follow-ups are excluded. All slides with tumor involvement reviewed ones demonstrate tumor’s characteristics determined. After block determination 3 sections 10-micron thickness obtained from MPO polymorphism was shown using acil restriction endonuclease enzyme fragment length (RFLP) method after polymerase chain reaction (PCR). histopathological parameters including stage type, lymph node metastasis, ovary endometrium involvement, recurrence late metastasis compared genotype chi-square Fisher’s exact test. Results: mean age 51.3 (10.9) years. Of cases, 29 (36.7%) had AG (adenine-guanine) 50 (633%) GG (guanine-guanine) genotypes. Only identified statistically difference assessed histopathologic (P=0.015). When assessed, there no mortality (P=0.622). Conclusion: thought progressive regressive development due response host. Within framework, assessing one foundation stones MPO, more endometrial for genotype. We believe significance will be encountered broad case series.

Myeloperoxidase (MPO) gene mutation in hereditary MPO deficiency.

Myeloperoxidase (MPO), present in the azurophilic granules of polymorphonuclear leukocytes, is a myeloid enzyme whose synthesis is restricted to promyelocytes. Complete hereditary MPO deficiency affects 1 in 2,000 to 4,000 individuals; however, the genetic cause of this defect is unclear. We have determined the molecular basis of MPO deficiency in one individual (SQ). Granulocytes of SQ had no ...

Menopausal Status Modifies Breast Cancer Risk Associated with the Myeloperoxidase (MPO) G463A Polymorphism in Caucasian Women: A Meta-Analysis

BACKGROUND Breast cancer susceptibility may be modulated partly through polymorphisms in oxidative enzymes, one of which is myeloperoxidase (MPO). Association of the low transcription activity variant allele A in the G463A polymorphism has been investigated for its association with breast cancer risk, considering the modifying effects of menopausal status and antioxidant intake levels of cases ...

Myeloperoxidase (MPO) -463G->A reduces MPO activity and DNA adduct levels in bronchoalveolar lavages of smokers.

The myeloperoxidase (MPO) -463G-->A genetic polymorphism is associated with a reduced risk for lung cancer, but the underlying mechanism is not yet elucidated. Therefore, the impact of this polymorphism on MPO activity and lipophilic DNA adducts was studied in respectively bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid and cells, from 106 smoking Caucasian lung patients. MPO activity was determined spectro...
